Applications Engineers
We have immediate openings for four Applications Engineers in our Customer Care Department.
The Applications Engineer is responsible for manufacturing, installing, qualifying and repairing complex robotic automation equipment deployed in LabCorp’s laboratories throughout the US. The Applications Engineer is a key interface between design and manufacturing groups, and the end-user group.
Responsibilities:
- Execute Factory Acceptance Testing of automation systems.
- Perform installation and Site Acceptance Testing of automation systems.
- Provide detailed training for laboratory user-groups on use of automation systems.
- Provide remote technical support via e-mail and telephone for user-groups.
- Perform on-site diagnostics and repair of automation systems.
- Assist user-groups in diagnosing application issues.
- Produce detailed reports using CRM software.
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Engineering or Life Science Field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Programming experience required. Experience with V+ and AIM is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-10 years related experience with complex automation systems. Previous field experience in medical or laboratory automation is a plus.
- Technical and customer relations background derived from hands-on problem solving.
- Experience resolving customer problems and providing training to user-groups.
- Strong working knowledge of operating systems and real-time machine control.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- 40% travel required. Must arrive on-site within 24 hours if initial incident is not resolved.
- Weekend and/or after hours support as part of a 24/7 operation.
Customer Care Administrator
We have an immediate opening for a Customer Care Administrator in our Customer Care Department.
The Customer Care Administrator is responsible for performing clerical, scheduling, and administrative duties for the Customer Care Department.
Responsibilities:
- Reception duties for Customer Care incoming call
- Recording customer problems into Salesforce.com and directing calls to an available Field Service Engineer
- Maintain Customer Care calendar
- Expedite Customer Care travel arrangements
- Enter spare parts orders and expedite order fulfillment and shipmentPrepare documents (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc) for department team
- Coordinate company in-house and offsite lunches
- Maintain “common” phone/mailing list
- Complete paperwork for shipping packages
- Maintain department budget

System Specialists/Manufacturing Technicians
We have immediate openings for two Systems Specialists/Manufacturing Technicians in our Manufacturing Department.
The System Specialist/Manufacturing Technician is responsible for initial trouble-shooting and analysis of problems encountered during product assembly and of products returned from the field due to defects.
Responsibilities:
- Debug and troubleshoot electronic assemblies.
- Mechanical, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical assembly and re-work of production products including wiring, soldering and crimping.
- Assist in prototype assembly.
- Help develop manufacturing test procedures in support of customer requirements.
- Load software and perform Radius accuracy test and work closely with QA and Engineering to identify and perform corrective action for unit to pass accuracy test.
- Lead system bring-up process for Radius.
- Assure products meet quality requirements.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering would be a plus. Minimum of 3 -5 years precision assembly experience.
- Thorough knowledge of electro/mechanical components.
- Experience in loading software.
- Demonstrated skills with the safe and effective use of standard hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and understand CAD drawings, blueprints and schematics.
- Ability to maintain appropriate resource deployment in order to meet production schedules.
- Ability to train Assembly Technicians on documented assembly instructions and techniques.
- Must be a team player who is well organized, with good communication skills, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
Software Engineer
We have an immediate opening for a Software Engineer in our Software Development Department.
The Software Engineer must have a solid background in the Java environment, primarily designing and building IDE-based applications using the Eclipse RCP framework. Experience with J2EE web applications using JSP/Servlets, XML and Web Service technologies with a relational database backend is desirable. Experience with hardware interfacing and/or embedded programming a plus.
Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and support a Java application to program scientific protocols for laboratory automation.
- Design and develop user interface components.
- Create Eclipse RCP plug-ins for automation control and specialized script editing.
- Interact with J2EE Web server applications.
- Work on small to mid-sized projects from requirements and deployment through production release and maintenance
- Define requirements in conjunction with non-software teams
- Maintain, upgrade and refactor existing software products
- Develop within FDA/ISO quality guideline
Requirements:

7+ years experience in design and development of J2EE Web applications.
- Extensive relational database experience writing and tuning SQL queries.
- Hands-on experience with Tomcat.
- Strong understanding of XML and related technologies.
- Background in object-oriented design methodologies.
- Comfortable working in an “Agile” development environment a must.

Controller/Accounting Manager
We have an immediate opening for a Controller/Accounting Manager at our Windsor, Connecticut headquarters.
The Controller/Accounting Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations and is responsible for directing the organization’s accounting functions including:
Responsibilities:
- All necessary adjustments, accruals, account reconciliations/analysis necessary for an accurate and timely close (target close date is having financial statements available for distribution on approximately the 15th day following each month end).
- Supervision and involvement in all billing transactions including installment billings on instrument and service orders, and all other billings including consumables and lab services.
- Prepare financial statements for foreign subsidiary.
- Supervision of Sr. Accounting Clerk.
- Oversight of accounts payable processing, and other recurring transactional activity.
- Involvement in periodic inventories and related compilations.
- Costing of production and lab service contracts including quantification of labor and overhead components.
- Application of proper cutoffs and accrual procedures.
- Supervision of proper filing and documentation of all financial related matters.
- Maintenance of a sound internal controls environment.
- Sales and Use Taxes - oversight of related audits, when and if needed.
Requirements:
- BS in accounting with 5-7 years experience in general accounting. CPA desirable.
- Manufacturing/cost accounting experience essential.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
- ERP Implementation/Systems integration a plus.
- Operations experience a plus.
